Sven and Marcel Paufler have won their third German championship title in a row at the German Canoe Marathon Championships in Kassel!!! The brothers from Bremen have been competing in the men's performance class for three years now, and for the last year with the support of our firm. Because we support people who still have something to do. And the exceptional athletes have now secured their qualification for the World Championships in September by winning the DM. Congratulations!

Already the start phase of the race for the DM turned out to be nerve-racking: Already after the first 500 meters, several boats were hindered by a fishing line reaching far over the Fulda, whereupon the jury decided to restart shortly before reaching the first turn. In order to still stay on schedule, the original 32.1 kilometer competition course was shortened by one lap, so that "only" five laps and four portages had to be completed.

Sven and Marcel stayed in the leading group in the first lap, but then increased the pace. In the following, both the first boat from Cottbus, then in the first portage also the British kayak double, had to let go. The two from Bremen kept the pace high so that they could extend their lead and finished three and a half minutes ahead of the British competition with a time of 1:41:57.57 hours. Third place went to Thomas Kittner and Klaus Gieres (also for KRG Bremen), and third German boat was Daniel Berger and Eric Trocha from ESV Cottbus.

With this success, the foundation for the season highlight is laid: The qualification for the World Championships in Vila Verde/Portugal (03-09 September 2018) is done!
